Grant information

The Empowering Queensland Women (EQW) grant program supports community groups and organisations across Queensland to develop and deliver initiatives that align with the Queensland Government’s priorities for women and girls.

In 2025, a particular priority is addressing the unique issues faced by women and girls that prevent them from achieving economic security.

Women’s economic security is central to achieving gender equality, influencing all other elements throughout women’s lives. Economic security includes the ability to afford shelter, food and basic living expenses, as well as access to opportunities to achieve higher levels and long-term financial security and wellbeing through education, training and employment.

Funding available

One-off (grant) funding of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) is available for eligible initiatives (e.g. events, projects) to be delivered in Queensland by 30 June 2026.

Successful applicants may receive full or partial grant funding.

There is a total allocation $270,000 (excluding GST) available for the EQW 2025 round grant program.

Organisations may submit one (1) application per round.
